Absolut System, winner of the "Première Usine" call for projects as part of Plan France 2030

[Paris, June 27, 2023] – The “FAIRE2” project – Fabriquer l’Avenir Industriel et Répondre aux Enjeux Energétiques – led by Absolut System, a subsidiary of the Groupe Absolut, was named winner of the “Première Usine” call for projects in May by the French Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.

The aim of this project is to accelerate the industrialization of prototyping, manufacturing and sales processes for innovative cryogenic systems.

On the occasion of the “Accelerating our reindustrialization” reception at the Elysée Palace, Emmanuel Macron presented the Plan France 2030 program aimed at accelerating France’s reindustrialization while maintaining its ecological requirements and ambitions. This policy of supporting innovation will enable the emergence of the first start-ups and innovative SMEs to develop “green industrialization”.

In this context, the “FAIRE2” project involves the industrialization of cryogenic solutions in support of the energy transition. These systems will facilitate access to liquid hydrogen, reduce the cost of transporting electricity thanks to superconductivity, and monitor greenhouse gases thanks to a satellite constellation.

The development of a new plant in the commune of Eybens in Isère, specializing in green technologies, will create a unique innovation cluster in the region, while promoting a more sustainable energy model.

Finally, the “FAIRE2” project will lead to the creation of around a hundred highly-skilled, innovative and high value-added local jobs in strategic sectors such as aeronautics, energy, space, defense, mobility and quantum digital technology.

About Groupe Absolut

Groupe Absolut is a world leader in innovative cryogenic solutions (between -180°C and -271°C) for research and industry. Its ambition is to develop cryogenic innovations to accelerate the energy transition. The Absolut Group’s origins lie in the Absolut System subsidiary, which has been developing ultra-complex, made-to-measure cryogenic equipment for 13 years. Recently, the Absolut Group created three other subsidiaries specializing in high-growth markets: liquid hydrogen, earth observation in NewSpace and superconductivity. Absolut Hydrogen offers liquid hydrogen solutions for mobility and decentralized energy production, and Absolut Sensing operates satellites to detect greenhouse gas emissions (methane). Recently, Absolut Quanta (low-energy supercomputers) was created with the aim of decarbonizing the IT industry while improving its performance. On the strength of its international stature and involvement in numerous strategic projects (France 2030, Copernicus, etc.), the Absolut Group is actively developing highly innovative solutions for environmental management, new energies (nuclear fusion, hydrogen) and quantum digital technology. Its customers include leading companies such as Airbus, Thalès, Safran and CFS, as well as agencies such as CNES, ONERA, the French Space Agency and the French Space Agency.
