The various test benches can accommodate components from a few cm3 to several dm3. The largest vacuum chamber is 1m in diameter. The ultimate vacuum is 1.10-6 mbar, obtained by a turbomolecular pumping unit.

All our test benches requiring a vacuum chamber are equipped with bulkhead feed-throughs. These enable us to retrieve all the necessary data (Temperature/Power/Position/Pressure…) for the tests to be carried out correctly:

The specialized cryogenics laboratory is equipped with small and medium vacuum test chambers, used for thermal vacuum testing and environmental qualification testing for aerospace programs (ECSS standard).

Several chambers are available, depending on the size of the components and the services required. The largest vacuum chamber has a diameter of 1 metre and a total volume of 1m3, while smaller chambers are used for parts of the order of 0.2m.

The interfaces allow the use of versatile equipment such as :

  • Pressure measurements at ambient and cryogenic temperatures

  • Temperature measurements from 4K to 370K

  • Various sizes of cryogenic cooler with cooling power ranging from a few tens of watts at 80K to hundreds of milliwatts at 4K for direct cooling using thermal links

  • Connectors for RF, dc signals, etc.


We offer thermal cycling tests, mechanical tests and thermal vacuum tests with detailed turnkey reports.

Absolut System designs your cryogenic system according to your performance, dimensioning and standards criteria. Our teams optimize the choice of technologies and prototype manufacturing methods.

Equipped with the appropriate product design software, our team implements the entire process chain: study, manufacture, design, assembly, testing, corrective action and rapid integration of modifications until the desired performance is achieved. Engineers and technical experts ensure the manufacture of prototypes right through to pre-production runs.

Absolut System is able to produce cryogenic components such as turbomachinery, as well as complex prototypes such as cryostats or IDCAs (complete cryogenic assemblies).

The test benches feature temperature-controlled trays (35K to 350K) on which components are thermally cycled.

Absolut System ensures cycle repeatability, with precise regulation of the cooling and heating phases, and stabilization at predefined levels. The number of cycles, temperature steps and durations are fully customizable to suit test requirements.

Specialized in the space sector, our teams integrate and assemble critical satellite components in ISO 8-certified clean rooms, to provide you with cryogenic systems that meet the highest standards. Absolut System is particularly experienced in acceptance and qualification testing for satellite equipment, in accordance with international ECSS standards.

Testing is carried out in an ISO 8 clean room, with ISO 5 clean hoods for specimen integration. We can measure and control particulate and molecular contamination of small equipements we manufacture.
