Our achievements
From R&D studies to the innovation of cryogenic systems, Absolut System lifts the technological barriers in the field of cryogenics for multiple markets. Discover some of our projects below.
In September 2022, Absolut System supplied, delivered, installed, commissioned and trained a Helium purification and liquefaction system for the neuroimaging platform’s Magnetoencephalography (MEG) system at the Centre d’Exploration et de Recherche Médicales par Émission de Positons (CERMEP).
Absolut System has successfully developed and manufactured a helium loop for cryogenic cooling of a 140K laser amplifier with venturi system and non-contact circulator. The entire laser system is being developed in collaboration between the STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council) research organization and the Hilase Centre, where the finished device will be based.
In order to recreate the life and performance of the engines studied by ONERA as closely as possible to actual operating conditions, Absolut System has recreated the environment of the satellite in orbit, using the cryogenic pump in the vacuum chamber.
Absolut System has been working on the development of a cryogenic propellant depot, as part of the CNES R&D Challenge for upper stage reuse. The use of depots and on-orbit refueling are essential for long-term lunar and Mars missions, as they enable multiple launch missions and reusable tugs in space.
As a partner in the MEESST project, Absolut System manufactures and supplies the cooling system, based on a cryogenic circulation loop. This system is used to cool the superconducting magnet, which is maintained at 40K to generate a magnetic field capable of repelling the plasma.
The result of a Franco-Indian partnership, the TRISHNA project collects thermal infrared images of the Earth's surface with unrivalled resolution and revisit frequency. Absolut System supplied the thermal links and cryogenic cooling for the instruments on the International Space Operations mission to study the Earth's temperatures.
The consortium comprising Absolut System, Nexans, CentraleSupelec & the University of Lorraine, supported by SNCF Réseau, will enable manufacturers to master the unwinding of a superconducting cable in a railway environment with constraining bending radii, and to install an innovative, energy-efficient cooling system technology.
Absolut System is taking part in the European SCARLET project ("Superconducting cables for sustainable energy transition") with 14 partners in 7 countries. The aim is to design and industrially manufacture superconducting cables to enable more efficient and less costly energy transmission from renewable electricity production sites.
Absolut System is developing a long-life cooled optronic system, in partnership with French manufacturers Lynred and HGH. Our R&D teams have developed a new generation of high-frequency, high-reliability Pulse-Tubes.
