Joule-Thomson

Absolut System develops a two-stage Joule-Thomson helium micro-compressor

Temperatures below 3K can be achieved with a Joule-Thomson stage. The cycle gas is pre-cooled by a cryo-cooler to 4K or 10K depending on the application. This option not only enables temperatures below 4K to be achieved, but also keeps the cryocooler away from the sensitive part. A Joule-Thomson stage is integrated into the ACE-CUBE JT2K optical platform. The system is easily integrated into a customer application with temperature and power specifications typically < 100mW for 4K > T > 1.7K.
